DeMarco Communications is based in Bergen County, NJ and is in the business of the design, publication, production, and distribution of official town and community newsletters / newspapers. Although they look like tabloid newspapers, our publications are actually more in the nature of a direct mail / direct marketing piece. This is because they are mailed via USPS to every household within a given community (not tossed to the curb like typical free community newspapers) and therefore deliver our advertisers' messages straight into the home of every resident/potential customer.

At the same time, our companion company, Virtual Town Pages, is an Internet marketing and advertising company with its origins in 1999. VTP is in the business of the design, creation, maintenance, and hosting of web sites for small-to-medium-sized businesses, and the operation of community web sites which contain online business directories and banner advertisements.

So, our companion companies offer broad-ranging, multi-media marketing solutions to our advertising clients, including:

  • Ad design, creation, publication, and distribution
  • Marketing consulting, communications, and public relations services
  • Web site creation, maintenance, and hosting
  • Banner advertising creation and placement
  • Online directory business listings
  • Internet and e-mail marketing

About the Available Position:

We are seeking a friendly, ambitious, energetic, enthusiastic, experienced individual to join our team as an Outside Sales Representative out of our Fort Lee, NJ office. As an integral part of our team, you will deal directly with clients and prospects consisting of various small-to-medium-sized businesses, and will be responsible for conceiving and selling advertising campaigns and packages in our network of community publications and online directories / community web sites. We are a small company, and are looking for an individual who can be groomed to move into a leadership role to ultimately assume responsibilities of the principals/partners. This is a great opportunity for advancement into a management position.

Specific responsibilities and functions of the position include:

  • Prospecting, approaching and cold-calling for new accounts
  • Presentations, overcoming objections, and closing sales
  • Consultation with clients regarding ad copy and design
  • Obtaining ad copy and artwork from clients and working with in-house designer
  • Delivery of proofs and obtaining client approvals
  • Servicing your existing client base on an ongoing basis and obtaining renewals
  • Meeting standards of performance for both daily activities and weekly results

Sales reps are expected and required to meet rigorous and measured standards of performance for both their activities (prospecting and presenting) and their results (sales quotas).

The base salary is $30,000.00, and commissions from our minimum required results is another $46,800.00 in compensation; so by simply meeting your quotas, you will earn a minimum of roughly $77,000.00. In addition, the commission structure is uncapped - there is no ceiling on how much money you can make - so a six-figure income within your first 2-3 years is a distinct possibility. We will support you 100% along the path to your success, including bonuses and incentives.

Requirements

To us, personality and attitude are more important than extensive prior advertising sales experience.

  • at least 1-2 years of solid, uninterrupted, demonstrated outside sales success in the sale of intangibles (advertising preferred)

Lastly, since this in an outside sales position, you must possess a valid license with a clean driving record and have daily use of a vehicle.
